About the Highland Park Sports Club

The Highland Park Sports Club (HPSC) was founded in the 1980s by Bill Duvall and Jeff Swope to create a dedicated source of community support for student-athletes, coaches and UIL athletic programs throughout the Highland Park Independent School District.

For more than four decades, HPSC has brought together families, alumni, local businesses and supporters of Scots athletics to provide resources that strengthen Highland Park athletic programs and support the broader mission of HPISD.

Today, HPSC supports all UIL athletic programs within HPISD, provides financial assistance to teams and organizations, contributes annually to the district’s general budget, awards scholarships to graduating seniors and supports coaches pursuing advanced degrees.

HPSC raises funds through memberships, sponsorships, the annual golf tournament, Scots Illustrated, the Scot Shop at Highlander Stadium and direct donations. Every contribution helps create opportunities for Highland Park students and supports the coaches and programs that serve them.

Investing in students and coaches

HPSC currently awards four scholarships:

  • Doak Walker Scholarship

  • Ronnie Marks Scholarship

  • Christianne Beshara Scholarship

  • President’s Scholarship

HPSC also provides reimbursement awards for Highland Park coaches pursuing master’s degrees, reinforcing the organization’s commitment to both student development and coaching excellence.

Building for the next generation

In 2026, HPSC established the HPSC Endowment to help secure the long-term future of its mission.

The Endowment represents an important step in HPSC’s evolution — creating a permanent foundation of support for future student-athletes, coaches, scholarships and athletic programs while giving alumni, families and community partners a meaningful way to leave a lasting legacy.

From the vision of Bill Duvall and Jeff Swope to the establishment of the HPSC Endowment, the purpose of the Sports Club has remained consistent:

  • Bring the community together.
