Highland Park Sports Club

Highland Park Athletics & Booster Directory

A community resource for understanding the booster clubs, support organizations and independent athletic programs surrounding Highland Park ISD athletics in Dallas, Texas.

All UIL Sports. One HPSC.

HPSC is independent from HPISD. Highland Park Sports Club is a separate, independently governed 501(c)(3) nonprofit booster organization. HPSC is not a department, subsidiary or legal component of Highland Park Independent School District. We work collaboratively with HPISD to support UIL athletics while maintaining our own board, finances, fundraising and governance.

Understanding HPSC

HPSC Serves the Broader UIL Athletics Mission.

Sport-specific booster clubs are valuable because they can focus intensely on one team or program. HPSC exists for a broader purpose: supporting HPISD UIL athletics across sports and helping address priorities that can extend beyond one team, one season or one group of families.

We believe these roles should complement one another. Strong team boosters strengthen their individual programs. A strong HPSC helps strengthen Highland Park UIL athletics as a whole.

One Athletic Community

Different Roles. Shared Purpose.

Strong Highland Park athletics does not require every organization to perform the same function. It requires each organization to understand its role, communicate well and keep student-athletes at the center.

01

Sport-Specific Boosters

Focus primarily on the needs, traditions, fundraising and activities of an individual athletic program.

02

Highland Park Sports Club

Supports HPISD UIL athletics across sports and helps address broader priorities affecting the overall athletic community.

03

Highland Park ISD

Governs district programs and establishes district requirements, approvals and expectations for organizations supporting HPISD activities.

Responsible Booster Leadership

Strong Boosters Follow Strong Practices.

HPSC encourages every organization supporting an HPISD athletic program to maintain an active relationship with Highland Park ISD and regularly confirm that its governance, fundraising, expenditures and activities follow current district requirements and applicable UIL rules.

HPSC is not the compliance authority for another booster organization. HPISD establishes district requirements and approval processes. When a question involves district policy or approval, booster leadership should confirm the current requirement directly with HPISD.

  • Keep HPISD informed about booster activities and major projects.
  • Confirm required approval before significant fundraising or spending.
  • Maintain current bylaws, meeting minutes and financial records.
  • Understand UIL rules affecting student-athletes, coaches and boosters.
  • Coordinate projects involving district facilities or multiple programs.
  • Review procedures as booster leadership changes.
  • When uncertain, ask HPISD before taking action.

Directory Standard

Booster Partnership

Strong Boosters Make Highland Park Stronger.

HPSC encourages legitimate, responsibly governed sport-specific boosters. They bring volunteer leadership, enthusiasm and financial resources directly to the programs they know best.

We do not want to compete with those organizations. We want strong communication and constructive relationships so that the groups supporting Highland Park athletics can work toward a common purpose.

  • Support your individual program exceptionally well.
  • Maintain strong communication with HPISD.
  • Share major initiatives before unnecessary duplication occurs.
  • Coordinate projects affecting district facilities or multiple sports.
  • Look for opportunities where success within one program can strengthen the broader Highland Park athletic community.

Extend Your Impact

When Your Team's Needs Are Met, Help Another Scot.

Strong individual programs make Highland Park athletics better. Sometimes that success creates an opportunity to serve something larger.

When a UIL booster has met its anticipated program obligations, maintained an appropriate operating reserve and has unrestricted resources available, HPSC welcomes a conversation about extending that impact across Highland Park UIL athletics.

A voluntary contribution to HPSC can help address broader athletic priorities, including programs whose fundraising opportunities may differ substantially from those of larger or more highly attended sports.

Any transfer should be consistent with the booster organization's governing documents, donor restrictions, applicable HPISD requirements and UIL rules.
